About Gisou
Gisou is a haircare and skincare brand founded by Dutch-Iranian blogger Negin Mirsalehi back in 2015. By the way, “gisou” literally means hair when translated from Persian!
The brand is famously known for its honey-infused hair care formulas, and you’ll be glad to learn that all the honey is sustainably sourced and comes directly from Negin’s dad’s bee garden, where both of them are continuing the six-generation tradition of beekeeping. As you might well know, honey is a powerhouse full of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants that do many great things for hair.

Negin Mirsalehi, a Dutch-Iranian blogger, grew up with a deep-rooted family tradition of beekeeping and her passion for natural, sustainable, and effective hair care stems from there.
It was Negin’s mother that first started experimenting with natural, honey-infused hair care products. Negin took inspiration in her work and launched Gisou in 2015 with the brand first (and already cult-like) formulation, the Honey Infused Hair Oil.
Gisou is based in Almere, Netherlands with both headquarters and the legendary Mirsalehi Bee Garden located there. All of Gisou products, except for the Hair Oil, are also produced in the Netherlands.
Gisou is a cruelty-free brand that does not use any harsh ingredients in their formulations. All the honey is sourced sustainably; however, because of its use, the brand is not vegan.
